    Linux System Architect In Transportation
N.C. Department Of Information Technology May 2018 - Dec 2021
    Raleigh, North Carolina, United States
I was the key Linux leadership for migrating an existing SAP environment (based on Power7/AIXv7/DB2) to a greenfield SAP HANA 2.0 installation on Power9+x86_64/SLESforSAPv15.Under a tight implementation schedule, I designed, engineered and delivered a reliable Linux environment including clustering and complex networking (such as per-interface routing rules and bonding over SRIOV NICs). As part of my solution, I wrote custom RPMs and created package repos, configured DNS (using BIND v9) and DHCP (using Linux dhcpd) services, designed kernel auditing, implemented centralized monitoring (using Nagios) and logging, and customized SUSE Manager to support simultaneous builds on both x86_64 VMs and Power9 LPARs.During this time, I gained considerable exposure to SAP HANA and its interactions with Linux. Additionally, I designed a MediaWiki environment for knowledge transfer.SLES/SLES for SAP 15, SUSE Manager, IBM Power9, 2-node HANA Clustering for Scale-Up, SRIOV, Nagios, Python, BASH, HMC, Dell PowerMAX, MediaWiki, AIX 7
