Mr. Barreiro has over 43 years of experience in the practice of geotechnical engineering. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer in Florida, Texas, Alabama and Louisiana, and holds the D.GE certification recognizing the possession of specialty and extensive education, integrity and sound judgment. Mr. Barreiro is a Life Member of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He is currently Vice President of Geotechnical Services with consulting services and operational responsibilities over the Greater Houston Area. In this role he is responsible for servicing, maintaining and developing the firm's client base in the region while managing and directing the publication of high quality technical deliverables. In a previous position he served as Thompson Engineering’s Geotechnical Discipline Leader and Principal Geotechnical Engineer working out of the firm's Mobile, Alabama headquarters. In that role, Mr. Barreiro was responsible for the development of business opportunities and the management of technical deliverables for Gulf of Mexico, Mexico, Caribbean, Antilles and South America geotechnical offshore studies. Mr. Barreiro responsibilities have included QA plans and actions associated with geotechnical field data acquisition and laboratory services programs.In addition to geotechnical engineering, Mr. Barreiro has worked on a multitude of assignments involving Consulting Firm Principal/Owner, Branch Office Management, Construction Materials Testing and QA/QC Services, Environmental Site Assessments, Forensic Engineering Studies, Business Planning, Business Development, Personnel Development, Organization Management and Administration. Mr. Barreiro owned and successfully operated a geotechnical consulting firm for 20 years with offices in Miami and the Florida Keys. Mr. Barreiro’s broad project experience includes low, mid, and high-rise structures, office buildings, condominium / apartment buildings, residential subdivisions, mixed use developments, academic institutions, hospitals/medical/healthcare facilities, commercial/professional buildings, sports/civic facilities, dwarfs, bridges, roadway/pavement works, port authorities, water/wastewater treatment facilities, industrial facilities, parking garages, hotels/motels, stormwater management, site assessments, DRI support, sinkhole studies/remediation.
