Identified the need for, specified and developed a UK postcode subsidence model. This project delivered a unique insurance rating tool for Aon UK clients and also helped produce increased revenue from existing clients and also helped gain new clients. The subsidence model successfully delivered an ArcView GIS based software application to allow thorough investigation of any subsidence prone UK postcode at District, Sector and full Postcode Unit resolutions.Provided client training on all relevant factors that contribute towards a subsidence claim.Selected and managed a team of students to assist in topographic soil map digitising.Developed and managed relationships with the third party data providers (British Geological Survey, Ordnance Survey) and external academic contractors.

Continued with the development of UK wind and flood catastrophe models, the initial role was to specify and coordinate the installation of a high end GIS package (ArcInfo) for the Research & Development team.

Researched and developed 3D flood modelling, simulating the impact of real-time flood propagation to properties at risk following coastal sea defence failure. This project involved the use of ArcInfo and the practical application of Global Positioning Systems (GPS) within the urban flood modelling environment.Position - Under Graduate - 1994Employed by Alexander Howden as part of the Masters Degree. Key role was to visit the regional National Rivers Authority offices to digitise the 1:250 year coastal flood maps. Which then defined the key risk areas for the UK coastal flood model.
