Team Lead Quality AssurancePanasonic Electric Works Laboratory Of America Dec 2005 - Nov 2007The company was small and lacked a quality assurance (QA) environment with proper methodology and practices. This became the top priority for the company as software delivery dates were approaching and software bugs had to be found and corrected in a much more efficient manner. Because of my experience in IT, database administration and software engineering, I was asked if I would become quality assurance team lead to design and implement a QA solution. I was assigned two full-time engineers as team members, given a budget and five months to have the QA environment working. My team worked very hard on the design of an automated software test environment that would free company software engineers from manual testing. Because of the nature of our company software, we could not use a simple QA lab with virtual machines to conduct testing. We needed a complex test environment with multiple servers, twenty computers and five networks. I lead the team to design a solution, I purchased and setup all equipment, then conducted tests until the QA environment could be verified as working correctly. My team was able to do this under budget and one month ahead of schedule.Write automated test software in Java, C# and C that does unit, integration and system testing, black and white box testing, performance and security testing, etc. for all company software.Administer all company database servers (MS SQL 2005, MySQL 5). Design and create all databases, tables and stored procedures to store massive amounts of QA test data. Write software that creates dynamic HTML pages based on queries to the test database. These pages can be shown securely in a browser to any company employee in the USA or Japan who has rights to view test results.Meet with other team leads and software engineers for software design meetings to discuss best practices, attend code reviews and assist engineers with individual debug issues.

Software EngineerPanasonic Electric Works Laboratory Of America Jun 2005 - Dec 2005Work as part of a team in a multi-team environment to design, code, test and release company software. The primary language used by my team was Java, but I also improved other language skills in C# and C so I could work with other teams when assigned or function as a backup for any team member. The company had one IT employee with little database experience, so I also worked as a backup for IT and as the database administrator (MS SQL 2000/MySQL 5) in the company.
