As Finance Manager for AB Sugar China South I established and coordinated a programme of initiatives across the business focussed on better performance to deliver bottom line improvements. In the first 2 years of the programme, these initiatives delivered £16m of PBIT uplift.• Enhanced Collaboration. I initiated projects which have enhanced cooperation between AB Sugar and our JV partners as well as between Finance and other functional departments. • Cost Base Focus. Using analytical skills to benchmark five sugar factories and highlight savings opportunities across the Group I ran a cost reduction programme over 18 months which reduced our fixed cost base to its lowest level since 09/10, a real terms reduction of 13%. This during a campaign in which the business achieved a record production volume.• Finance Development Programme. In late 2013 I was accepted on to ABF’s prestigious Finance Development Programme. I subsequently joined the ABF Treasury team working on a cash-pooling project across our European operations, and reporting our Euro exposure as part of our strategy to minimise the risks posed by the Eurozone Crisis• Finally I joined Silver Spoon, working in the commercial finance team of an FMCG business.
