I will be responsible for the delivery of a two year project aimed at increasing awareness of the plight of the pine marten, which is extremely rare in Wales, and prepping the ground for a potential re-stocking. Specific duties involve intensive survey work to detect marten presence/absence, habitat work/mapping and community engagement.

Environmental, ecological, geological, social history & wildlife interpretation for adults and school children across the incredibly diverse Highland landscape. Lecture delivery, hospitality, & development of specific knowledge - mustelid biology.

Research Assistant on a pine marten ecology project in partnership with Stirling University and the RSPB, at Abernethy Forest Reserve. I was responsible for helping conduct a non-invasive genetic survey, using dna collected from feces and hair samples to infer abundance, sex, individual genotype and diet. We surveyed Abernethy Forest and the Mar Lodge.

Research Assistant on the common scoter ecology project, Forsinard Reserve. I was responsible for comparing the efficacy of non-invasive survey methods to detect carnivores. I was also involved in fresh water sampling, scoter foraging watches, brood watches, raptor watches and reserve predator transects.

Kendari Area, South East Sulawesi, Indonesia

I worked as a Divemaster and was responsible for coordinating dive schedules, training new divers, supervising science divers in the water and conducting reef monitoring.

This involved learning reef ecology and species identification to then accurately survey the surrounding reefs and asses the ecological impact of local resorts and fisheries. Involved transects for fish, corals, invertebrates and algae.
