Oversees technical needs of Davis Planetarium, IMAX Theater, Crosby Ramsey Memorial Observatory and Science On a Sphere to provide professional and rewarding visitor experiences: Supervises and performs maintenance and repair of Davis Planetarium equipment and components – both the new Sky-Skan Digital Sky system, including LED cove light system, 10 server-class PCs, associated Spice components, Video, Fiber & Audio systems-and the original analog Planetarium system: including electrical, electronic, audio-visual, computer control, mechanical and hydraulic systems, including the Minolta star projector; works with IMAX Chief Projectionist and IMAX Corporation representatives to troubleshoot and solve technical problems; works with Observatory and SOS staff to maintain and upgrade facilities as needed; monitors all projects to maintain high level of workmanship and public presentation; maintains inventory of audio-visual supplies for IMAX/Planetarium venues; trains other staff in technical areas; provides technical assistance as time permits for other MSC department projects. Also serves as IMAX event A/V tech as needed
