I was the Lead Counselor at the Community Transition Program at Turning Point. The program takes in individuals who have a felony conviction under the age of 18. After their time in the Youth Offender System they can transition to Turning Point. Our job is to ensure that the clients become active members in the community; we help them get jobs and teach them how to function in the world.This program basically is helping individuals who have been in jail, YOS, for an extended period of time and reintroducing them to society and everyday life. We help the individuals obtain a job, keep their job, how to cook, how to manage their finances with short and long term goals on saving, get the individuals enrolled in health care and help the individual navigate the system when they need to, get the individual into therapy if it would benefit the individual etc etc. Much like the name of the program implies we help transition the individuals back into a community with the hope that they learn from their experiences and that the individual does not get caught up in their 'old' gang life.

Volunteering with Veterans Compass as a Navigator.I help with answering phone calls and emails of Veterans who may need some help or guidance towards local resources that can help the Veteran with what they are facing. Helping Veterans find where the local VA office is to helping a Vet find emergency housing for the night.Aside from the basics of helping who we can I have been updating the resource guide for Veterans Compass for the local and surrounding areas.

I worked as head of security from 2012-2015. As Head of Security I managed my team’s scheduling and training as well as ensuring that all staff followed protocol and safety measures. As a Security personnel at a music venue I was ensuring the safety of the bar’s patrons, and staff. Aside from basic security of a venue I have experience in bar-backing and some experience as a bartender.
