David Bell was elected to the Advertising Hall of Fame in March 2007.He was the CEO of 4 industry companies including two of the biggest holding company groups. He was CEO of Knox Reeves when it was acquired by Bozell. He was part of building Bozell from a small US company to a top 10 Global Agency. He became CEO of Bozell Worldwide. When Bozell was acquired by True North Communications (NYSE) he became CEO. When True North was acquired by Interpublic Group (NYSE) he became its CEO. He retired Interpublic to become a Senior Advisor to Google where he stayed 4 1/2 years.He left Google to join Tim Armstrong (CEO) to become an advisor to the AOL turnaround. Following the acquisition of AOL by Verizon, he continues to serve as a senior advisor.In 2008, Mr. Bell partnered with Pegasus Capital Advisors to create gyro, a unique global B2B agency which became AdAge’s Global B2B Agency of the Year in 2016 and was acquired by Dentsu in 2016. Mr. Bell remains chairman.He is the Past Chairman of the American Associations of Advertising Agencies, The American Advertising Federation, the Advertising Educational Foundation and the Ad Council. Mr. Bell has served Chairman of the National Forest Foundation, the AD industry PAC and the Chair of the Ad Council Advisory Committee.He also served as a Trustee of Macalester College and the Convent of the Sacred Heart School.He serves as a director of Time Inc. and Creative Reality / Connexus, both public companies. He also serves as a director to ad tech companies, including Double Verify. Resonate, Dstillery, Your Tango, Pebblepost and 33Across.
