CurrentI have over 40 years’ experience across a range of sectors – both private and public. I am a highly practised Chartered Quantity Surveyor, who now specialises in quality management, information security and business continuity.I am responsible for defining and implementing Gleeds global corporate and service delivery strategies and approaches to quality management (including service delivery process and procedures), information security and business continuity.I am lead author of ‘RICS Best Practice Guidance’– having authored the RICS New rules of measurement (NRM) RICS New Rules of Measurement: Order of cost estimates and cost planning for capital building works (referred to as NRM 1), and also co-authored the RICS New Rules of Measurement: Detailed measurement of building works and the RICS New Rules of Measurement: Order of cost estimates and cost planning for building maintenance works (referred to as NRM 2 and NRM 3 respectively– the NRM suite has been embraced by other countries. I was also lead author for the RICS black book publication for ‘Interim Valuations and Payment’.I am also a published author in my own right, have written and the ‘NRM 1 Cost Management Handbook (Routledge)’, which has been introduced as a core text by a number of leading universities.I occasionally write articles for RICS Construction Journal on technical issues relating to the construction profession.
