ESP Optimization & Edge AI: Led the development of a multi-year Electric Submersible Pump (ESP) optimization program, which introduced a paradigm shift in the company’s operational philosophy. The program is structured around three key milestones: real-time analysis feeding machine learning setpoint recommendations, human-in-the-loop optimization, and full AI autonomy via edge devices. Phase 1 and 2 of the program resulted in a combined 4% improvement in production and runtime. Phase 3 is currently in pilot and has exceeded expectations by 14%, with potential to deliver $1.5 - $3.0M annually in opportunity cost capitalization. This work has been recognized in two publications by the Society of Petroleum Engineers.Leadership & Team Development: Directed the Data Science, Data Engineering, Data Analysts, and Project Management departments, overseeing a diverse team composition of 30% full-time employees and 70% contractors and consultants. Managed a multi-million dollar budget and individual project budgets of similar scale. AI & Machine Learning: Developed and deployed a suite of real-time algorithms tailored for upstream oil and gas operations. These algorithms are designed to detect suboptimal production & equipment rates and equipment degradation, enabling timely interventions and maintenance. The associated alerting platform facilitates interaction between automated alerts and petrotechnical experts, incorporating feedback loops for continuous improvement. This program was rolled out across approximately 90% of field operations, directly contributing to five consecutive quarters of outperformance against production forecasts.Project Management & Data Integration: Oversaw complex data management initiatives, including the integration of data across an ERP implementation and six acquisitions.
