Process Engineer
CurrentProcess Engineering 2012 – 2014• Co-managed with equipment engineering integration of substrate sheeter system into the print process. Improved ink mix process and significantly increased prints per kg for silver/silver chloride ink. Addition of masking to UV drier to reduce substrate temperature effect on ink solvent release approximate throughput increase of 25%. (FMEA`S completed and validation of all improvements in accordance with ISO13485).• Completion of a goal to improve supply of Silver/Silver Chloride Ink for manufacture of electrodes used for INRatio product. Created test methods for key process inputs providing data for vendor reports to drive investigations and improvement goals resulting in significant increase in prints per Kg annual savings of £230k.Work with three alternative ink suppliers to develop a second source Silver/Silver Chloride Ink. After 6 months one supplier`s ink met all ATL CTQ`s.• Trouble shooting to resolve SCAR failure to achieve process CTQ`s. Silver ink thickness CTQ May 2013 which shut down the process.Implemented a data collection plan analysis of data identified route cause. Supply Chain, supplier Audits and contact for technical management of Ink, Screen, substrate suppliers.Product Support Engineering 2010-2012• Yield optimisation for Heart Check processes and standardisation . Focus on deposition.Tip registration procedure resulted in annualised savings of £129k.Support for PQ batches for Heart Check leading to CE marking in 2010. Generate and perform Gage R&R, support R&D to define manufacturing CTQ`s.Product Support Engineering 2007 – 2010• Validation of new processes for Heart Check product. Worked alongside Equipment Engineering to develop and optimise a reagent deposition system from URS to PQ, key outputs yield and deposition volume.Created test methods and validation documentation to support progress to product launch of first finger stick test for BNP. Support R&D with process optimisation.
