David Bennett has worked in children's publishing since 1978. First at W M Collins (now Harper Collins) in publicity, then as art director for Usborne and Walker books at their outset before becoming freelance in 1987. He has created, produced and published hundreds of highly successful books for children that have been sold and translated around the world, has worked with many of the worlds leading illustrators and authors and co-created Where's Wally with Martin Handford. David is the publisher at Boxer Books which he created in 2000. He was Consultant Creative Director at Quarto Childrens Books focused on higher quality to increase sales of their children's trade titles. Under a pseudonym, David writes and illustrates for leading international publishers including Simon and Schuster, Scholastic, OUP, Orchard and Hodder. He is the co-producer of the Lily and Bear stage shows, which launched at The Royal Albert Hall and has been a trustee and singer with St Albans Chamber Opera, won a City of London swimming marathon, back-packed through Kenya, climbed Mont Blanc, been attacked by monkeys and took up Cello in lock-down.
