As a member of the Enterprise Engineering and Architecture team, I was charged with finding new technologies to improve all areas of our infrastructure. Designing implementations of new and existing systems. Working closely with Development Architects to find creative approaches to complex issues. I was also responsible for working closely with Microsoft and Storage Engineering teams to document implementations of new systems, discuss redundancy and DR scenarios, mentoring, and serving as an escalation point for Senior Engineers in all aspects of Citrix, Active Directory, and VMware.Key AchievementsLead all Citrix/Xen design decisions for Japan, Australia, UK, China, Korea and US data centers for the combined NEW and Asurion global operations. Architect and lead deployment of VDI initiative migrating Call Center operations to XenDesktop. Successfully bringing a 500 seat call center online using various Citrix products including Netscaler SDX, Edgesight/Insight, Profile Management, Provisioning Services, XenDesktop and XenApp. Scaled same solution for additional 1100 seat call center. Fully documented policies allowing Operations and Engineering to support and maintain these new technologies. Implemented Citrix Netscaler with Access Gateway and RSA to replace web interface and a poorly performing secondary authentication product. Improved performance and reliability for a 200+ XenApp farm with 3,000 concurrent users. Created new security policies for our off-shore Xenapp based call center including endpoint scanning, desktop guidelines, and URL isolation. This resulted in the highest security score to date from our largest client responsible for 9 of our 11 call centers.Absorbed all storage duties from exiting Technical Architect to document them and eventually turn those duties over to a new storage team. This included a migration off of aging EMC CX3 and CX4 SANs and on to IBM XIV arrays.Created a VDI pilot in order to move our “W@H” users from Xenapp pu

Part of a seven member tier 3 team responsible for all 400+ Microsoft systems. Provided expert troubleshooting and incident management while establishing and maintaining a 99.99% uptime. Also provided all services from concept, design, build out and support. Routinely working with the business to identify key areas of concern in order to improve performance and reliability. This allowed us to creatively design solutions for complex requests and issues as well as design proactive solutions for issues before they impact the business.Key AchievementsRe-engineered troubled Citrix Presentation Server farm consisting of six servers to provide better stability and to handle growing needs. Increased uptime from under 80% to 99.99%. Designed redundancy for all systems and grew farm to 50 servers supporting over 1300 concurrent users. Designed Work At Home platform allowing Customer Service Representatives to work out of their homes reducing the need for “Brick and Mortar” call centers. NEW’s “W@H” program now includes over 1100 CSRs and has become the company’s largest call center. Architected and deployed second XenApp 5 farm to provide a secondary location for all company applications and Work At Home program in the event of a disaster.Deployed and maintained NetIQ to manage monitoring of all 350+ servers including application monitoring for SQL, Netbackup, VMware, Citrix, Exchange and various in house applications. Wrote numerous monitoring scripts to alert on in house applications.Maintained a segregated lab in order to evaluate, test and design new products to be presented to various departments throughout the business.Participated in exchange migrations from 5.5 to 2003 and later from 2003 to 2007.Replaced or virtualized all out of support and aging systems (170 systems over 2 years) with new hardware while minimizing downtime.Maintained security patch levels for all Microsoft Servers
