I am responsible for translating the current and expected future US economic environment (Fed policy, interest rates, economic activity, inflation, etc.) into actionable insights for the firm's portfolio managers and executives.

I lead a team of economists and analysts delivering economic forecasts and analyses that are used across Nationwide (including virtually all business units in Nationwide Financial and Nationwide Insurance) to inform and strengthen business decisions, strategies, and operating plans. We act as internal consultants to the business units, helping them determine the impacts of the external economic environment on their customers and the demand for Nationwide's products -- both nationally and regionally (where applicable). I am also the primary external spokesman for Nationwide with respect to the economy and economic policy, speaking extensively to customers and to the media.

In charge of all forecasts and analyses of the economy, housing and mortgage finance markets -- especially their impact on the mortgage insurance industry and the PMI Group, specifically. The primary spokesman for the company for these areas. Also in charge of annual strategic planning at PMI, especially external environemental factors.In charge of Risk Analytics at PMI, one of two major functions in the Risk Management Organization. Responsible for all modeling and projections of credit and interest rate risk for the company, as well as pricing of insurance products.Manage a combined staff of 25 professionals within both the Economics and Risk Analytics functions.

In charge of all forecasts and analyses of the economy, housing, and mortgage markets -- especially their impact on Fannie Mae. Primary spokesperson for the company on the economy and housing markets. Managed the Economics Department.

In charge of all projections and analyses of Federal Reserve monetary policy, interest rates, bank and thrift lending, and housing activity. Also in charge of the start-up of a regional economic forecasting business. Had significant contact with business and government clients.

Advised the senior management of the Bank on fiscal and monetary policy. Wrote professional articles for the Bank's Economic Review.

Taught both graduate and undergraduate courses in introductory economics, macroeconomic theory, econonomic policy, statistics, econometrics, and time series analysis.Served as a thesis advisor for PhD students in Economics at the Claremont Graduate School.
