Born in San Benito, Texas and moved around the State of Texas, as his family followed his father’s career path with the Texas Department of Public Safety. Graduated with honors from Baptist Bible College, in Springfield, Missouri in 1991 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. While in College, David became a Martial Arts practitioner, achieving a Fourth Degree Black Belt in Taekwondo. He holds several specialty self-defense training instructor certifications, such as PPCT, Taser, SPEAR, and Close Quarter Combat.David started his career in Law Enforcement in 1999 with the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office, in Georgetown, Texas. He has earned a TCOLE Texas Master Peace Officer license, Master Jailer license, and TCOLE Instructor certification. He graduated the Texas Peace Officer Academy from Central Texas College in Killeen, Texas. David attended the Sam Houston State University, and earned a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice Leadership and Management in 2013. He served as a board member on the Capital Area Planning Council of Governments’ Law Enforcement Education Committee 2009 to 2016. Current Member: Texas Police Association, Texas Sheriff's Association, American Jail Association, and American Correctional Association.David is currently a Texas Peace Officer serving as Director of the Regional Law Enforcement Academy in Austin, Texas. David has also been an Adjunct instructor in Criminal Justice at Colorado Mountain College in Breckenridge, CO.
