I perform assays that primarily test for residual solvents, which require a highly careful lab procedure toensure no contamination or loss of the analyte(s) in question. To prevent contamination or solvent loss Ikeep a close eye on sample preparation and the handling of individual samples, so the solvents testing can be run with confidence and precision. Testing for residual solvents requires a high degree of flexibility as results can vary dramatically, and I must be capable of adjusting laboratory methods and instrument methods alike to account for such variance. I utilize and maintain analytical instruments such as headspace GC-MS, GC-FID, and direct injection MS systems. Additionally, I train other chemists in the analysis of residual solvents.

I carried out complex, multi-step inorganic synthesis reactions in air free conditions. I recorded the results in my lab notebook for reference by my mentor. I also contributed to keeping the lab space tidy and fully stocked.
