I carried out the role of Project Manager on various projects while with Crummock. Each project increased in value as I was given more responsibility. This allowed me to improve not only my technical knowledge but my management skills. Below is listed some of the key duties and responsibilities I was tasked with.• Health Safety and Environmental Management- Responsible for maintaining high levels of HS&E Management with the result of having no reportable accidents to date.• Cost Control- This has involved being integral to the procurement of sub-contractors including defining scope of works, managing the preliminary budget, assisting in the pricing of variations and managing the costs of some labour only packages. My role as project manager has also required me to liaise closely with the site QS to produce and present the monthly Value Cost Reconciliation reports and ultimately keep a tight control on costs to maximise margins• Programme- Responsibility to ensure the programme is met and bettered where possible. This includes procurement schedules, streamlining the construction programme and creating target programmes and programmes to completion. I am also involved in the weekly progress of the construction programme and on occasion the programming of EOT claims where weather or client changes have affected the project duration.• Quality- Responsibility for maintaining high levels of quality from the substructure, superstructure through to the finishes. This involves implementing a rigorous quality monitoring procedure to ensure minimal defects at completion• Client Relations- Responsible for fortnightly/monthly progress reports to the client. Ensuring the clients needs are addressed and at the forefront of the project objectives. This enables a good relationship to be formed with a view to repeat business.• Working under various conditions of contract (NEC 3, SBCC, JCT 5thetc.)
