I worked for the University of Waikato in many different roles from 1997 to 2023, as well as co-running my own development company since 2005.In that time I have worked extensively with HTML, PHP, MySQL, PostgreSQL and CSS. This includes custom development of plugins and themes for Moodle and Wordpress through to full web-based applications. I look to use open-source products where possible and look to automate and improve processes. I have used GIT and other version control software since the early days and have accounts on GitLab and GitHub. I am familar and have used daily many popular productivity SAAS tools like Mailchimp, Survey Monkey, Dropbox, Slack, Asana, Trello, Google Drive and apps. Looking to the future of web, I have worked with Azure integrations and API creationI have extensive experience in acquiring, configuring and hosting website domains (DNS, email, backup and security, Cloudflare, WHM and Cpanel). I have also supported numerous university e-learning classes using Moodle. My current project interests are in the areas of member management for community groups and clubs, as well as electronic scoring for martial art tournaments. (Ringmarshall.com). For fun, I have created virtual sport picking competitions for many clients. I have been training in Taekwon-Do since 2007 and have my 2nd Dan. I am also a member of the tournament advisory group for ITKD.
