Several years of senior management within the leisure industry preceded a career in sales, marketing and branding, sales training & mentoring, and business management.In 2000 I set up Dreamland Marketing Ltd, in Newcastle & then Teesside. The company enjoyed a high level of success and subsequently I opened a new office in Barcelona. In 2004, I was awarded the prestigious 'Excellence in Ownership' award by my industry peers.In 2006 I relocated to the predominantly Oil & Gas area of Great Yarmouth, unaware at the time that the area's core industry was just about to make a power shift toward sustainable energy, especially offshore wind.I enjoyed three years as UK Commercial Manager at Wilson UK before moving into a Business Development Managers role in shipbuilding, marine services and engineering. During this role at Alicat Workboats I helped develop a market leading business in a very competitive industry. My role was diverse but mainly focused on the business development, sales & marketing of the many different divisions and focal areas that made up the business.My move into subsea engineering followed spending over 8 years first as BDM, then as General Manager and for the last 4 years as Sales Director at Pipeshield International, one of the leading subsea asset protection and stabilisation specialists in the world. Pipeshield's core activities include subsea cable and pipeline protection within Oil & Gas, Renewables & Marine Civils sectors. During this period the company grew from a circa £3m to £19m and introduced a number of new products, services and sectors to the portfolio.I have now made the transition to greener subsea solutions. Still in the same field, ARC Marine are dedicated to the creation and restoration of Reefs and the aquaculture that depend on them. With absolutely no plastics used and a focus on greener, net zero materials ARC have spent 9 years designing, testing and developing eco-central marine habitats which also act as scour protection/prevention and coastal protection. The company boast a team of dedicated marine scientists who have captured a huge amount of data from the various sites at which the products are present and at the last count over 188 species have been documented as inhabiting the reefs. The company offers a full turnkey package, from survey and site report, manufacture and supply, installation and ongoing inspection through the life of the project.Personally, I’m a family man who works hard and enjoys life. It just so happens I also love the beach & the ocean. So that worked out well!
