Washington D.C. Metro Area

I work primarily on high rise mixed-use retail and residential buildings located in Washington, D.C. I also work on smaller buildings such as schools and shopping centers. I am responsible for foundation and structure design, RFI and shop drawing review, as well as some of the modeling and coordination between other disciplines and SK&A. The foundation systems designed have been mat foundations, spread and strip footings, and deep foundations. The primary structural systems have been steel and concrete. The steel design has included beams, columns, joists, vertical bracing, and diaphragms. The concrete design has included mild reinforcing in beams, slabs and columns; and post-tensioning in beams and slabs.

Coralville, Ia

I worked primarily on large green field projects at existing industrial facilities. I was responsible for foundation and structural design, reviewing RFIs and shop drawings, and coordinating in-house drawings and models with our clients. The primary foundation systems designed were spread and strip footings, and occasionally deep pile foundations. Structural steel and masonry were the primary structural systems used. The majority of structures designed were oil preparation and extraction buildings, site utility buildings, pipe racks, bean storage, and miscellaneous support buildings. I designed all of the main structural systems including beams, columns, horizontal and vertical bracing; and also designed all of the connections including base plates and anchor bolts, beam to column, beam to beam, and vertical and horizontal bracing to beams and columns.
