My good fortune was to make a living while pursuing a mission-driven career. I have worked in varied and challenging environments in philanthropy, for-profit and nonprofit enterprises, and the public sector. I learned that I do my best work in places built on trusting relationships. Places where teams tackle complicated problems with discipline. I carry a passion to help everyone reach their potential, at work and in the world. Most recently, I completed serving as interim President and Chief Executive Officer of Seattle Foundation at the request of the Board of Trustees where I had served for seven years. It was an unexpected and meaningful experience to help keep the foundation stable and to pursue continued organizational transformation in the midst of a leadership transition. As my career winds down, I remain passionate and committed to making this a fairer and better world. A world in which which we embrace our diversity and learn from our differences, and a place where all of our children will thrive.

Interim President And Chief Executive OfficerThe Seattle Foundation Apr 2021 - Jun 2022Seattle, Washington, United StatesDuring the foundation's search for a permanent CEO, my colleagues on the foundation's Board of Trustees asked me to step up as CEO on an interim basis. I served for over a year during a time of great change for our community and the foundation as a steward of more than $1 billion in philanthropic assets. The foundation continued a multi-year transformation as a more effective civic leader, a grant maker, and a bridge between community interests, government and philanthropy around issues of racial equity, regional disparities and creation of a region in which everyone participates and benefits.
