David Bloch is a strategic and experienced executive dedicated to growing the returns and impact and stewarding the operations, governance, and legal affairs of alternative investment platforms, family offices, operating companies, and charitable institutions.As a GP, GC, Board Member, Investment Committee Member, and now Operating Partner of Valedor Partners, a private equity and growth investment firm, David has partnered with asset owners, institutional investors, C-suite/founders, and boards to source, diligence, acquire, grow, and exit private capital investments. A senior attorney, he is seasoned in balancing business and legal positions across subjects including securities, M&A, compliance, and litigation. He is an experienced manager and board member adept at keeping stakeholders aligned, improving governance, and managing growth while leading with purpose and integrity.David is dedicated to charitable service leadership. In addition to other pro bono roles, he chairs the endowment investment committee of Corpus Christi College, the twelfth oldest college of the University of Oxford. He has helped steer the College through strategic investment initiatives, including revision of its Investment Policy Statement and Asset Allocation Plan, creation of its ESG policy, the repositioning of a historic property portfolio, and issuance of long-dated bonds. He has sourced and managed GP relationships for numerous investments for the College across public and private markets.David has expertise in: Private Equity, Venture Capital, and Alternative Investments generally; Governance; Strategy; Operations; Business Planning; Financial and Risk Management; Fundraising; Legal Affairs; Compliance; Organizational Development; and Leadership.He holds an A.B. Cum Laude from Harvard Law School, where he was Executive Editor of the Human Rights Journal.Prior to Valedor, David acted as co-CIO and GC of a family office investing in private equity, absolute return, private credit, real estate, venture capital, and public markets. He was an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell, a law clerk at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, and the Frank Knox Memorial Fellow in Law at Harvard University, where he published in peer-reviewed journals and assisted indigenous peoples in the United States, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. He is admitted to the New York Bar, S.D.N.Y., and E.D.N.Y. and has passed the Series 65 examination.
