I didn’t get I to journalism the “old fashioned way”. After a wonderful career in banking I decided I wanted a change. I knew I enjoyed talking to people, but I wanted to talk to people about the things that are important to them. My first news director gave me 90 days to prove myself. Years and multiple stations later I try to keep that same mentality of “proving myself”. But not in an insecure way, in a “I’m not done learning” way.
