As a Research Assistant in the psychology department at Denison University, I aided Dr. Seth Chin-Parker in his research on the interaction between conceptual knowledge and our experiences. My weekly tasks included: - Setting up and running the experiments - Organizing the resulting data- Analyzing the data using statistical analyses.

As a public relations intern for the Granville Area Chamber of Commerce, I worked with multiple board members learning about the different functions of the organization, and completing various projects for them throughout the summer. Some of my duties included:- Organizing and managing the weekly Farmers Market in Granville, Ohio- Giving insight and feedback for a mobile tourism application that the Chamber is currently developing- Compiling a list of the Facebook pages of each affiliated business of the Chamber of Commerce- Creating an editorial calendar that would act as a template to expand the Chamber's use of social media websites, such as Facebook- Working the front desk at the Chamber of Commerce office in Granville, Ohio and interacting with various clients

Participated in a 3-week Positive Psychology course that explored the research behind and application of this subject, as well as how positive emotions influence cognition, health, wealth, and social relationships. Course material covered work by psychologists such as Martin Seligman, Sonja Lyubomirksy, and Barbara Fredrickson. I also had the opportunity to visit Edinburgh, Scotland and engage in a cross-cultural analysis of social programs in these two cities, comparing how they prioritize the overall well being of their citizens.
