Ophir-Energy was founded in 2004 and built an offshore asset base in Africa which by 2007 became the second largest deepwater acreage holder. As Operation Manager I oversaw the build up of Reliance's East India drilling campaign. During my time at Reliance the company moved from one small drillship to safely running 6 deepwater exploration rigs.

During the 13 years at Woodside I was part of some transformational changes. I started as a Senior Drilling Engineer with the role of introducing Shell's Drilling in the Nineties management concept. This work was subsequently published in SPE Drilling Engineer and several SPE and OTC conferencesAs Principal Drilling Engineer I oversaw all the companies drilling engineers in the various teams such as Goodwyn, Northwest Shelf and Timor Sea MODU teams. As an industry member participated with the Government in the development of the Australian Offshore Safety Case implementation. Also lead a successful 50% well cost reduction challenge. As International Drilling Manager lead the team that drilled the companies first international wells in deepwater Mauritania leading to the discovery of Mauritania's first commercial field. Worked as Drilling Engineer and Offshore Drilling Supervisor in Conoco's International Drilling team supporting Gulf of Mexico, Egypt, Canada and Angola. Spent six months on secondment to Conoco Egypt in Cairo

After graduating from Leeds University joined Conoco as trainee Engineer which after six months became a full time role in Conoco's Northern Operations as Drilling Engineer. During that time worked on Muschison and Hutton TLP platform directional development drilling and completions in the Northern North Sea.
