Upon joining the company, I initiated a move of all HUB dev and test from office on-site desktop machines to more robust and resilent cloud based VMs (Google Cloud aka gcloud). I brought up a Jenkins infrastructure, and now maintain the gcloud infrastructure, including creating a scheduled backup (snapshot) solution (something Google did not provide at the time). I also dramatically improved the ability of engineers to create their own local developer VM by scripting the entire HUB installation process. This means it is standardized and only take about 30 minutes, where it used to take 1/2 a work day.I'm continually working on expanding existing Python pytest front-end Selenium automation that I created for the HUB product, to include integration and interaction with Perforce, Git, Active Directory and LDAP, and Subversion, as well as automating tests around email integration with the HUB product.Create/Build and maintain GCP and AWS VM infrastructure, including backup scheduling, creation of new client eval machines, and various company GCP infrastructure VMs. Installation, maintenance and backup of testing support infrastructure on GCP (LDAP server, Gitlab server, and a decent sized Jenkins CI test infrastructure). Update and maintain AWS Lightsail and Route53 DNS.

I helped to develop front end (POM) test automation for various internal and external web sites at Livingsocial, using Ruby, Rspec and Selenium. I also help maintain our Jenkins CI instances and our Selenium Grid configuration setup on OpenStack using Chef. Additionally I mentored junior members of our team and provided QA insight and leadership to various groups within the company.

I develop test automation tools for web based cloud computing applications. I'm currently working with the Cloud Intelligence team, testing the web UI and supporting their CI/CD (Jenkins) infrastructure. I've done work with web testing using Selenium and Ruby Rspec and Python behave! BDD. I've created a parallel testing framework for Selenium (Selenium as a Service), created automation and scaled deployment of common testing tools like Jenkins, basic Linux sys admin, and using Chef to scale and standardize the deployment of resources like Jenkins. I gave it my best shot to try and do a push model with Chef and scaling Windows server deployments (I still want to go back and really make that work).

Postini sold to Google. Became official "Googler" in January. Continued to author test automation in Python for the Postini services as they began to integrate into the larger Google Apps context. Later I worked on portions of Chrome testing, the Google Toolbar (for Firefox), and briefly on Cloud Print.

Transitioned from customer care into QA. Wrote detailed test plans, working with x-functional teams to ensure good coverage of new features under test. Manually executed most test cases, with some small amount of automation in the form of Bash shell or Perl scripts. Worked with off-shore contractor team to begin automation of most regression test suites

Ensure amazing customer experience by assisting customers with issues related to mail flow, spam and virus filtering, and configuration of Postini services. Wrote a custom Bash shell script to expedite log searches across entire cluster's logging infrastructure when troubleshooting mail flow issues. Handled more customer calls/emails in one month than any two other customer care reps (nearly 900), while still providing excellent level of assistance.

Field Wireman (2512) and Morse Code operator (2533), attained rank of Corporal, and filled a Staff Sgt billet as Battalion Wire Chief near the end of my enlistment. Primarily served in Comm 3/6 for most of my term.
