People toss the term 10 times bigger so often it's nearly meaningless, but NoIR realized 10X growth over 20 years, and we did so entirely self-funded. We made it happen with strong business development vision, product development and hands-on sales feeding flexible manufacturing, and by trusting the organic process of understanding customer needs and quickly providing value based solutions. Those too may be clichés, except that for NoIR, they're not. NoIR Laser entered the Laser Safety Eyewear market in 1995 as an off-branch of the $1M NoIR Medical (est. 1972), just as I joined the company as a Sales Area Manager and part of the emerging management team. Utilizing the injection molding capabilities and expertise from producing low vision aids and sunglasses for the visually impaired, we started NoIR Laser with 4 laser safety filters and a handful of frame styles for the Ophthalmic laser market. To date under my direction, we’ve got 200 LaserShield filters and 30 frame styles (6000 SKU) in the laser eye protection catalog, and a dozen products in associated barrier and patient protection categories. We do business in over 60 countries with a small inside sales team, our products meet EU CE-certification standards, and we exhibit at a dozen trade events per year in the US and Europe. We’ve grown each year in size, revenue and in capability, and I’m pleased to say I’ve grown along that journey.
