Recruited to resolve operational and financial issues at Aurafin resulting from acquisition that doubled company size. Subsequently chosen to direct operations for newly formed Richline Group, following acquisition by Berkshire Hathaway with mandate to support aggressive acquisition strategy. Held authority for IT, distribution, procurement, customer service and manufacturing. Led team of six vice presidents, directors and general managers who in turn, oversaw performance of 1,500 associates, worldwide. Initiated integration of ten individual companies’ operations into single entity, eventually reducing operating costs by $8M after completion. Prepared integration/transition plans with corresponding IT requirements and implementations; real estate lease renegotiations and retrofits; human resource issues related to stay bonuses, severance, relocations, revised organization structures and terminations/layoffs; inventory movement, transfer and control processes; as well as implementation of needed new and modified operating procedures. Eliminated $9M in costs through designing and implementing automation machinery, revamping supply chain, negotiating favorable vendor terms and creating Chargeback Recovery unit. Turned around financial position of two overseas manufacturing facilities from loss to profitability through introduction of new product initiatives, cost-cutting programs and product controls.
