I have worked largely in the Road Design field for 36 years, beginning at Leeds City Council in 1985. I emigrated to Australia in 1995 where I have substantially worked for the State government.I began at Transport for NSW (then known as the RTA) as a contract road designer where I worked on many projects, the most notable of which was a 3km section of the Great Western Highway at Leura on which I was the sole Road Designer working on the Detail Design and on Construction Support.After leaving the RTA, to work in private industry, I returned to work in the Standards section where I reviewed the newly released Austroads Guide to Road Design and produced the NSW supplements for these documents. My primary role is now an advisory role in Road Design Policy and Standards.
