I joined Nexsen Pruet in April, 2019, and Nexsen Pruet merged with Maynard Cooper in April, 2023 to form Maynard Nexsen. I am licensed to practice in North Carolina and Georgia (though am currently inactive in Georgia), and have been registered to practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office since 1993. I received my Bachelor Degree in Chemistry from Wittenberg University in 1986, my Master's Degree in Organic Chemistry from the Ohio State University in 1989, and my law degree from Rutgers University School of Law-Camden in 1995. My practice is primarily in the areas of pharmaceuticals, petroleum chemistry, polymer chemistry, and biotechnology. I have assisted clients in developing world-wide patent strategies, drafted and procured patents in the U.S., and coordinated patent procurement world-wide. I have also coordinated European, Japanese and Australian oppositions, and conducted due diligence studies and IP audits. Before becoming a lawyer, I was a process development chemist with MTM Fine Chemicals, and an Adjunct Professor of Chemistry at Camden County Community College. I also won an award from Innocentive for an improved synthesis of butane tetracarboxylic acid, and am listed as an inventor or co-inventor on numerous U.S. and foreign patents.
