Senior leadership position where I am the responsible for the Quality Management System of Boeing Defence Australia, accountable to the Director of Operations for the organisations compliance to the QMS standards ISO9001, AS9100 and AS9110 and QMS components of the DASA approvals for Part 145, 21J and 21G. I am furthermore ultimately responsible for the Quality teams (42 reports) development, integration across a matrix-team organisation, performance and effective integration with the business programs.

This is the senior Boeing Program Manager position for the CH-47 program where I liaised and managed all elements of the BDA Chinook program working directly with military command positions. Responsible for approx. 80 personnel embedded across three sites (Maintenance – Townsville, Engineering – Enoggera, Training – Oakey).

I was accountable for their coaching, personal development and performance management. Maintained dual approved DASA Form-4s as the BDA Deputy Part 145 Quality Manager and 21J alternate Chief Independent System Monitoring (CISM).

As the Part 145 Quality Manager at Boeing, I held the Form-4 approved position, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards under the Defence Regulation set akin to those of EASA. In this role, I was responsible for overseeing the entire Quality Management System (QMS), focusing on continuous airworthiness, compliance auditing, and the implementation of effective corrective actions. My duties included liaising with regulatory authorities, managing internal and external audits, supporting and empowering my delegates across all BDAs aviation platforms (including FA-18G, C-17, EC135, P-8A and E7A) and ensuring that the organisation's maintenance and repair activities adhered strictly to Part 145 standards. I played a key role in maintaining certification, developing quality procedures, and driving continuous improvement initiatives, ultimately ensuring the highest standards of safety and operational excellence

As Quality Manager at 808 Squadron, I led the implementation of the Squadron’s Quality Management System under the DASR framework and Part 145 approval, driving a pivotal transition to line and base maintenance operations. I oversaw compliance, authorisations, and performance metrics while ensuring the highest standards of airworthiness and safety across all aviation maintenance activities. By fostering a culture of continuous improvement and using data-driven insights, I enhanced reporting processes and facilitated a more strategic approach to operational readiness. My efforts contributed to the successful rollout of innovative maintenance practices across the entire Navy aviation organisation, earning a commendation for excellence.

International posting where I worked as part of a small, specialised ADF team embedded in-country with the Samoan Police Maritime Unit to advise and develop their training, operations and maintenance practices for their patrol vessel as part of the Australian Pacific Patrol Boat Program, which ensured Australia’s white paper strategic direction was being met in location. This was a highly competitive selective position which required an acute ability to influence across various cultures whilst assisting in the development and operations of another sovereign country.

This is the pinnacle position for a Navy maintenance member having the opportunity to lead and manage a team of maintenance professionals operating in the embarked environment away from supporting infrastructure and services. My role required accurate program management skills reaching across multiple $40 million-dollar aircraft and a developed understanding of required spares, supplies, maintenance planning and personnel management while balancing operational requirements with scheduled and unscheduled maintenance tasks. It required an innate level of technical knowledge, human factors and the ability to influence across multiple domains. I was placed in a leadership position of up to 30 personnel and responsible for all their tasking, coaching, personal development and management.
