ClearSky Data is an enterprise hybrid-cloud storage system with latency equivalent to on-premise solutions and the reliability and scale of the cloud.- Adapted gigabit high-throughput edge cache node from a hardware on-premises device to a unit running on AWS EC2 to serve as a cloud based disaster recovery solution.- Added support for Point of Presence disaster recovery, both to accommodate customer and internal down time.- Significantly built out the management plane to allow greater customer visibility into how and when their data is used.- Worked with the marketing team and outside consultants to determine customer needs.- Designed and implemented means of extracting relevant storage information from various layers of our infrastructure including metrics from time-critical C++ code, disk storage logs, ceph osds, and Amazon S3 buckets. - Lead development of a scalable health monitoring system helping ensure an equivalent of 5 nines of system availability.- Embedded probes throughout C++ datapath to collect key system health data and developed aggregators to reliably collect all metric data on mass scale.- Employed CI/CD methodology to allow continuous enhancements to system accuracy, minimize false positives, and increase visibility for the ops team.
