Led, managed, and supervised a security force of over 250 men and women charged with 24/7/365 all-weather protection of the largest above-ground Priority Level One weapons storage area (WSA) in the Department of Defense. Lauded by the Installation Commander as having the toughest job on Nellis Air Force base due to difficult desert conditions, searing heat, and a challenging mission set while successfully motivating the security force to protect the nation’s premier warfighting resources. Controlled all operational aspects of physical security for the WSA including entry, exit, and armed response to alarms and incidents. Managed a budget of $99K and a vehicle fleet valued at $500K. Regularly inspected the security force in the harshest desert conditions and ensured they were ready to match any threat. Monitored intelligence feeds to ensure security force was postured to respond to a myriad of potential threats from international terrorist organizations. Validated this readiness level by earning top marks during a higher headquarters nuclear surety inspection which netted the squadron 15 superior performers, 2 “excellent” ratings, and an “outstanding” rating for physical security. Moreover, the WSA security force nuclear surety program was identified by higher headquarters as a “benchmark” for the rest of the Air Force to follow. Ensured all unit personnel maintained world-wide qualification for deployment in support of the Global War on Terror. Received an “excellent” rating during a higher headquarters inspection for unit’s readiness to deploy on short notice in support of wartime taskings. Key player in Air Force-level talks to consolidate WSAs which eventually saved millions in operations and maintenance costs. - Performance reviews included Senior Executive comments such as: “"Top Nuclear Surety Inspection results! 15 Superior Performers, 2 Excellent Ratings, Outstanding rating for physical security, flawless execution of force on force evaluation."
