The Yates Agency maintains six locations in Northeast Tennessee and Southwest Virginia.A native of the Volunteer State, he received a Bachelor of Science in BusinessAdministration from the University of Tennessee, where he majored in Marketing.Following his undergraduate work, he joined John Deere Health Group, a division ofDeere and Company, and assumed the role of Account Representative where he wasresponsible for large employer group medical sales and account management inSouthwest Virginia. He transitioned to his position at UnitedHealthcare when John Deere Health Group was acquired by United Health Group.By the end of 2002, David had been awarded top honors with President’s Awards both intotal sales as well as highest persistency of maintaining existing business. He was alsoawarded top honors twice again in 2009 for medical sales as well as his efforts in writingancillary business. Currently, he enjoys bringing his 20+ years of experience in the benefits industry to his new role of leading a team in coming alongside employers through their navigation of the ever changing healthcare and benefits environment in the "new" market not only following the Affordable Care Act, but most recently the results of employing those during a pandemic and beyond.David lives with his wife of more than 21 years and two sons in Gray, Tennessee, where he enjoys serving in his church, raising boys, University of Tennessee basketball, and spending time in the outdoors hunting on his family farm.
