Independent Support Worker
CurrentWorked professionally providing sole- trader based, person-centred, trauma-informed, recovery-based support to NDIS participants able to live independently in the community. Sought to balance the social model of disability with duty of care and dignity of risk principles thereby enabling autonomy, informed choice and control. Supported with community engagement, companionship, vocational activities, transportation, and ADL’s such as meal preparation and shopping.Liaised with support coordinators, and managed various sole trader functions including business marketing, self-training, compliance, accounting, invoicing, superannuation, GST and BAS submission, etc.
