A Platinum Club® of the World.Founded in 1968, the American Club in China is one of Asia's premier multi-sport family clubs and "A Platinum Club® of the World" - one of just 100 City Clubs globally with this honor. It serves as a home away from home for Americans and others in the international community as well as for local Taiwanese. Sports activities include tennis, swimming, fitness, squash, basketball and extensive facilities and programs for children. Dining options include an international-themed terrace, and Italian and Japanese restaurants. Other facilities include a library, salon and games rooms for adults and teens. The ACC celebrated its 50th Anniversary in 2018 when it also completed the latest phase of its multi-year capital improvement program. A Platinum Club® of the World.Founded in 1852, the RCYC is one of the world's premier sailing clubs with an international reputation for yacht racing. The RCYC also provides a wide range of year-round sports, social and family activities. As General Manager and CEO, had overall responsibility for all club operations and for providing strategic leadership to enhance the Club's premier position in international sailing. Responsibilities encompassed four sites, a ferry service, a seasonal high of 220 staff and a $15 million operating budget. Developed and implemented a Strategic Plan for the Club after a comprehensive member consultation process. As called for in the Plan, successfully completed a $7.1 million renovation of both Island and City clubhouses on time and on budget, the first multi-million dollar renovation project in 40 years. The RCYC won the "Regatta of the Year Award" at the "2016 Rolex Sailor of the Year Awards" ceremony for hosting the highly successful 2015 Pan Am Games Sailing Competition.

Founded in 1827, the Toronto Cricket Skating and Curling Club is one of North America's oldest and most distinguished sports clubs. It has developed Olympic medalists in figure skating and national and international champions in many sports. Other recreational activities include squash, tennis, fitness, swimming, lawn bowls and croquet, as well as extensive children's programs. The Club also has a large and complicated food and beverage department and offers a range of dining and social activities for members of all ages. The Club has 4,700 members and a seasonal high over over 300 staff and contract coaches. As General Manager and COO, improved service levels through emphasis on training, restructuring and streamlining operations. Undertook a comprehensive Membership Survey and developed member feedback tracking systems still in use to facilitate fact-based strategic and operational decision making. Recruited to be General Manager and CEO of the Royal Canadian Yacht Club.

Developed and contributed a monthly lifestyle column introducing Chinese readers to recreational boating with an emphasis on sailing - including racing, cruising and developing the sport in China.

Worked on the planning, development, marketing and pre-opening of one of China's largest private yacht clubs, with 500 slips, 300 guest rooms and a large clubhouse providing a variety of resort-style recreation facilities. Completed a smooth handover to the Assistant General Manager who is oversaw a phased opening which began in August 2014. The Club will offer world class marina facilities and sailing, racing and instruction programs to a local and international membership.

The first General Manager of this exclusive private club on the resort island of Sentosa. Facilities include 275 berths, superyacht berths, 100 dry stack spaces, 28 hotel rooms and suites, 3 houseboats, tennis, fitness, spa and multiple dining outlets. Successfully completed membership sales. With a first class team, achieved ISO 9000 and 14001 certifications and the Yacht Harbour Association's "Five Gold Anchor Award"​. Hosted the 2008-09 Volvo Ocean Race. The Club won the "Best Asian Marina/Yacht Club"​ at the Asia Boating Awards 2009, and several times thereafter. After a smooth handover to successor, moved to head office as Director, Special Projects, SUTL Marina Development Pte. Ltd., and worked on marina/yacht club/mixed use projects in Korea, Vietnam and Malaysia. Recruited by Rainbow Land Holdings Ltd to develop Ocean One International Yacht Club.

The LRC (Ladies Recreation Club), founded in 1883, is one of Hong Kong's most prestigious private clubs. A family club, it has one of Hong Kong's finest tennis facilities with 10 courts. It is also well known for swimming, with an indoor and outdoor pool, baby pool and diving facility. Other facilities include fitness, spa, badminton, squash, bowling, junior activities and a variety of food and beverage outlets. During a five year tenure, developed and implemented a new Strategic Plan, re-branded the Club, developed and opened the popular and profitable Sports Bar and completed and opened a new multi-activity building including a successful full-service Spa. Recruited to open ONE15 Marina Club.

Elected Chairman after founding and editing the Association's newsletter "Club Management Update". Developed a strategic plan for the Association which was overwhelmingly approved by the membership.

Established in 1924, the B&R is one of Canada's most prestigious private clubs. Best known for its racquet sports - tennis, squash, badminton and platform tennis - the Club has since diversified into fitness and wellness and has developed outstanding training programs for junior members. The B&R is unique in that its social component - dining, speakers' series, etc, - is equally important as its sporting side. The Club has produced national champions (and one member who played at Centre Court, Wimbledon) and has also won accolades for its food and awards for its Wine List. As General Manager, achieved a record 96% satisfaction rating in a comprehensive membership survey and achieved national and international recognition and awards for the Club's training programs.

After five years on the National Board, was elected President of the Canadian Society of Club Managers. Negotiated a strategic alliance with the Club Managers Association of America which enabled CSCM members to obtain the CCM (Certified Club Manager) designation, a model that has subsequently been adopted by other club management associations around the world.

Developed and delivered a course in Labour Cost Control for the School of Hospitality's Certificate in Hospitality Management and Certificate in Club Management programs. Consistently rated an outstanding instructor in student surveys.

A Platinum Club® of the World.Established in 1925, St. George's Golf and Country Club boasts one of the finest golf courses in Canada. Designed by Stanley Thompson, it is consistently ranked among the top five courses in Canada and the top 100 in the world. The Club hosted the 2010 RBC Canadian Open. St. George's also offers curling and year round dining and social activities. As General Manager, developed marketing and training programs, restructured operations during a financial downturn and introduced the CMAA's General Manager Concept.

A Platinum Club® of the World.Founded in 1875, the Granite Club is one of Canada's largest and most prestigious family clubs, with 11,000 members. It offers a variety of recreational facilities from curling and skating to racquet sports, aquatics and fitness. It also provides a range of dining, bar and banquet outlets. During a two year tenure, established the HR Department, its policies and procedures for this partly unionized employer of 400 (at that time). Revised job descriptions and introduced job evaluations and performance appraisal. Also introduced orientation and training programs, improved benefits and ensured compliance with provincial Pay Equity legislation.

(Contract Position) Working for Toronto-based developers and building upon project management experience gained at the RCYC, coordinated planning and pre-development work for a mixed use site including a resort hotel and marina.

A Platinum Club® of the World.Founded in 1852 and granted Royal status by Queen Victoria in 1854, the RCYC is one of the world's premier yacht clubs with an international reputation for yacht racing. Since the early 1880's, its sailing activities have been based at its Island location which has a magnificent clubhouse, pool and tennis. During winter months, members return to the City Clubhouse in downtown Toronto, where a range of recreational and dining facilities await them. As Assistant General Manager, developed and implemented a major multi-year capital improvements plan in addition to managing - at different times - the food and beverage and property departments. In the latter capacity, managed the seasonal opening and closing of the Island property including the launching and hauling of the fleet. Also highly involved with publications and marketing and with orientation and training of seasonal staff.

During five years of progressively senior management experience, developed, managed and expanded the Member Services Department which ultimately included: housekeeping, maintenance - including the seasonal opening and closing of the Island Clubhouse - the ferry service, security, special events, the newsletter and marketing and communications, and the Club's extensive archives.

Established the Property Department, later merged into the Member Services Department, and introduced scheduled preventative maintenance programs, housekeeping checklists and systematic security procedures and protocols for both Island and City locations. The mandate, successfully achieved, was to develop and implement a systematic approach to managing the Club's significant - and aging - physical assets.

Worked in a variety of seasonal and part-time positions including: sailing office, race management, chandlery, pro shop, food and beverage, etc. Gained hands-on experience in all operating departments.
