I am an educational professional who has worked in the field for 26 years, all but 24 years at the high school level. I would describe myself as an anti-establishment teacher, in that I do not teach the most polished lessons or adhere strictly to the daily policies of my school; but I love my students and am passionate about opening minds and teaching them new ways to see literature and life. Most of my teaching years have also been spent coaching cross country and track and field, and this devotion has translated into pushing students to be their best. I still truly see myself as a coach and mentor of students, waiting for that moment when they shine. Plus, along the way, maybe we can all have some fun. That's what it's all about, right? Remember, we don't have to be good all the time; we just have to be good when it matters.
