Responsibilities included leading the full scope implementation of the OCRWM training programs for offices to include complex analyses, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training programs and courses. I was responsible for establishing and maintaining the training management processes and procedures; facilitated the Training Advisory Group; advised senior management regarding training and qualification issues; and conducted training evaluations and assessments. I also monitored and reported on the status of training and development programs and services; reported delinquencies and deficiencies in mandatory training; maintained a central electronic training record; provided annual training budget recommendations; and provided professional training direction, advice, and administrative support to organizations to help them develop, conduct, and evaluate training. Ancillary duties included overseeing performance of OBM with regard to the OCRWM corrective action program; conducted trend analyses; managed the OBM procedure processes, conducted authoritative reviews of OCRWM internal documents for organizational impact, conducted reviews of OCRWM external documents for impact to the training and qualification function, and served as a qualified root cause/apparent cause analyst.In the conduct of my responsibilities, I was required to interface with the entire OCRWM organization up to and including program element senior leadership. Additionally, I was required to analyze and interpret a variety of regulations, codes, and standards, guidelines, and policies to ensure OCRWM’s training programs were consistent with these requirements.

As part of my responsibilities for managing the Corrective Action Training Program, I designed and developed hands-on training for the corrective action program software, computer based training for general users and managers/supervisors. Additionally, I was the lead instructor for the cause analysis training for OCRWM program. Ancillary duties included, managing the Lessons Learned, Corrective Action, and Self-Assessment Programs for the Training and Qualification Department for BSC. Additional assignments were to develop and conduct training on a variety of technical subjects. Training for the Yucca Mountain Project involved training personnel that directly or indirectly supported the project. I trained project participants in Las Vegas, Washington D.C, Sandia National Laboratory, Los Alamos National Laboratory, the United States Geologic Survey, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, and Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory.My most recent accomplishment was a comprehensive job analysis that led to the development of the BSC Quality Assurance Organization that led to a comprehensive training, qualification, and certification program. I served on the project team to improve the OCRWM Program Corrective Action Program. The training aspect of improving the program was to conduct a broad scope job analysis for the Management Review Committee, Condition Screen Team, and Corrective Action Program implementers. While involved in the OCRWM program as a contractor, I interfaced with all levels of management to provide effective training solutions.

Finally, during my tenure with Duratek at Fernald, I was tasked on several occasions by the Fernald public affairs department to present fundamental radiological concepts to public school teachers as part of a public outreach program.
