Covid restrictions closed the door on my tailoring business but opened a door for our Gymnastics Club. In 2021, I traded in my bespoke suit for a tracksuit…In September 2020, during the first lockdown, we took over the whole leisure centre that we had been located in for over 30 years. Despite spending 10 years planning such a move, the timing itself was forced upon us by circumstances. With the tailoring industry decimated by restrictions, the gymnastics club was potentially going to be our only source of income when it eventually opened. We therefore made the decision to invest all of our time and money into developing SAADI as a full time club. We invested over £150k into equipment and saw members increase from from circa 250 to 1150 in 18 months. We also have over 4000 new non-members.In 20 years of setting up and growing businesses I’ve never experienced a period of change like it. With the infrastructure and resource now in place I’m currently implementing a best in class Coach Training Program aimed at accelerating capability through a combination of internal and external training, mentoring and consultancy. Our team has expanded from just 10 to over 70 in 3 years, 9 of them full time. They are the most important asset we have as a club and should be inspired to succeed in whatever they do be it here or elsewhere.These are very exciting times that interestingly draw on my experiences within the Blue Chip FMCG sector as well as the last 20 years of entrepreneurialism. ————-

Fast forward 17 years and we have a shop in Hemel Hempstead, a manufacturing facility in Europe, and have made suits for some of the worlds most successful Hollywood Actors, sports people and business people.
