David is currently head of private markets strategic development (responsible for business development-, operational-, and strategy-related activities for private credit and private equity funds) at the D. E. Shaw group. He was most recently head of institutional sales for Investcorp International's hedge fund business and president of its broker-dealer. Prior to Investcorp, David spent 12 years at Barclays Global Investors (BGI), where he was last responsible for leading business development and strategic account activities for the firm's institutional businesses in the Americas. Previously he oversaw BGI's accounting and financial planning functions as U.S. Controller, and was secretary of the firm's global executive committee. Before his tenure at BGI, David spent six years in commercial and corporate banking, most recently as financial planning and analysis director at California Federal Bank (now Citibank). He started his career as a credit analyst at Barnett Banks (now Bank of America).David earned an MBA from the Walter A. Haas School of Business, University of California and a BA in Economics, with honors, from the College of Arts and Sciences, The University of the South. He is currently a member of the investment committee for the Episcopal Diocese of New York, as well as a member of the finance and investment committee for St. John's Episcopal Church in Larchmont, New York.
