Developed project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, Project Definition Rating Index (PDRI) for front end planning, spending curves, execution plans and project approval documents. Tracked project progress and issued reports via SAP and Albemarle’s in-house project tracking spreadsheets.Provided supervision over site engineering group and construction on an as-needed basis. Provided day-to-day supervision for on-site designers.Supported site projects and site maintenance as civil/structural engineer by providing consultation and design on civil/structural issues. Researched and approved excavations when needed.Project examples include:- Replacement of bulk aluminum powder transport system, - New gas chiller installation with associated foundations, piping, power and controls, - New truck loading spot for products using precast concrete panels to separate and protect control room and operators from loading operations; included redesign of product piping from blend tanks to load spot,- Various other debottleneck, piping and equipment installations projects.

Assigned to Albemarle’s Pasadena, TX plant as a Project / Civil Engineer on multi-discipline capital projects. Responsibilities included development of project scopes, estimates, schedules, budgets and approval documents on projects ranging in size from $5k to $3M. Also, developed equipment specifications and purchased equipment, pipe, valves and miscellaneous specialty items. Tracked project schedule and spending from project beginning through engineering, construction and turnover to Operations. Actively participated in project pre-startup safety reviews (PSSR). Completed project closure documents in a timely manner. Provided civil/structural engineering support to projects and plant maintenance including design of pump and miscellaneous foundations, pipe supports, filter building, drawing research for development and approval of excavation permits. Provided supervision of construction contractors on an as-needed basis.

Assigned to Shell Chemical Company’s Deer Park, Texas chemical complex via Parsons’ S.E.D. (Shell Engineering Design) group as an in-plant project engineer (ETSO) on capital projects ranging in size from $20k to $300k and reporting directly to Shell projects management. Project responsibilities included the development of project scopes, FEL analysis, estimates, budgets, schedules and equipment specifications based on input from project team including plant operations and process personnel and other plant discipline specialists.

Assigned as on-site project engineer at ARCO’s Bayport plant (now Lyondellbasell) involved with multi-discipline capital projects ranging from $10k to $5M. Project responsibilities included the development of engineering scopes, estimates, budgets and schedules, supervising piping and structural design personnel, liaison between engineering and on-site construction contractor, expediters and vendors.
