Manager Property And Finance
Overview
By way of background, I have had 30 years of experience in the finance and property industries. I graduated with a commerce degree from Lincoln University in Canterbury in 1977. I joined the Rural Bank in 1978, where I worked for a couple of years, and qualified as a Registered Valuer, before joining the Rural Services sector in the North Island. During this time I focused in areas of finance, valuation and business development, concluding with two years at Fletcher Challenge in a strategic planning role. In 1989 I joined Elders where I progressed from South Island Finance Manager to Managing Director of Elders Finance in 1995. In 1999 Elders Finance was sold and was later rebranded Hanover. I moved with the sale and held position as General Manager until early in 2010 when the business was sold. I set up a consulting company in 2010 and am working to expand its activity into the small business advisory and investment sector. My roles have involved managing day to day operations and providing leadership through staff management, strategy, compliance, and financial reporting disciplines. My skills are transferable across business units and industry types.I am well equipped to assist in all facets of business in a leadership or project management role. I understand all elements to properly structure and operate a business.I can create a popular work culture by drawing on past experiences and strong communication skills, and my ability to build relationships. During the past 6 years I have enjoyed using my experience to assist with business issues, in areas of operations and investment analysis, and project management.
