Designed specimen-holding stages to manipulate specimens in electron beam microscopes. The stages required 5 & 6 axis of movement x, y, z, tilt, bank and rotate. Developed and designed a gate valve for high vacuum applications that did away with any sliding and rubbing of the surfaces during opening and closing of the valve that could contaminate the chamber with debris from the o-ring seal during actuation of the valve.
