David began his career Aging Services in 1992 as the Associate Administrator of the Greenwood Methodist Home. In 1994 was appointed Administrator. Has served as President/CEO of the Corporation since 1995. Holds an MBA from Clemson University and a BBA from the University of West Georgia. Holds a dual healthcare license for NHA/CRCFA. Additionally, he is a National Retirement Housing Professional/Certified Aging Services Professional. Under his leadership through major expansions, Wesley Commons was transformed from a small, financially frail organization into a dynamic operation of over 300 employees serving close to 500 residents and customers each day. Appointed by Governor Hodges in 2000, served as Vice Chair of the SC Board of Long Term Health Care Administrators until 2018. He served as a Preceptor for the State of SC, as a resource for Administrators-In-Training. He served NAB by participating on the RC/AL Administrator Exam Committee, Standards of Practice Committee and the State Governance and Regulatory Issues Committee. He has also served on the Regulatory Issues Committee with SC DHEC. He currently serves as the Public Policy Chair of LeadingAge SC and on SC DHEC’s Health Regulation Associations Committee. As an active member of the national association LeadingAge, he has served on several national committees representing his field and state and has contributed to two publications, Broken and Beyond Repair: Recommendations to Reform the Survey and Certification System and Strategic Planning and Strategic IT Planning for Long-Term and Post-Acute Care (LTPAC) Providers. He also speaks to various organizations interested in new business development, team building, business culture development and value assessment of service lines. He is also deeply engaged in several community and State initiatives ranging from continued economic development to improving the educational and economic possibilities for the citizens of his community and the State.
