Early Development Leader for a mid-stage clinical asset. Leading Translational Biology group supporting early clinical development for assets to treat Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome and Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension.

Responsible for defining lung fibrosis strategy and managing research group providing cell-based and biochemical assay support for target identification, HTL and LO activities for small molecules and biologicals. Also involved in assessing in-licensing opportunities in the area of lung fibrosis. Responsible for managing collaborations with academic partners. My group's current work has been focusing on epigenetic mechanisms underpinning lung fibrosis, the role of macrophage subtypes driving disease, and the involvement of pathways such LPA in medating fibrotic responses of lung stromal cells.

Responsible for defining the strategy for pulmonary arterial hypertension. Managed a research group of PhD and non-PhD qualified scientists supporting internal drug discovery projects via cell-based and biochemical assays for novel target ID and validation, HTL and LO activities for small molecule and biologicals. Also acted as project leader for several internal drug discovery projects in the area of pulmonary arterial hypertension. Participated in assessment of in-licensing opportunities. My group focused on the role of the TGFbeta pathway in driving disease through stimulation of aberrant remodeling events in the pulmonary artery wall and how barrier function of endothelial cells of the pulmonary artery become impaired and contribute to disease through enhanced leukocyte extravasation.

I focused on G protein-coupled receptor signaling pathways and how they regulate diverse cellular responses such as proliferation and apoptosis through a combination of molecular and cellular biological techniques.
