Directed and managed all of the financial and HR functions of a $35+ million construction products distributor with 12 locations in Michigan and greater Chicago, also acted as the General Manager for the ToolAuthority.com retail web site. Major accomplishments:• In 2011, negotiated the acquisition of a similar Chicago distributor - resulted in a financial gain on the purchase of $1.3 million and added $10 million to the company’s annual revenue stream. • Procured the necessary cash flow and provided the financial insight needed to grow the company’s revenues from $17 million to $37 million over a seven year period. • During the first two weeks on the job, replaced a cancelled workers compensation policy and the company’s insurance broker. Over time, established a team approach to risk reduction and initiated a formal wellness program, lowering both the cost of workers compensation insurance premiums (experience mod decreased from 2.00 to 1.00 over six years) and health insurance premiums.• Streamlined the company’s collection process by repositioning my internal collection staff while integrating a collection agency into the processes, these actions vastly reduced customer account write offs while improving cash flow. • In 2010/2011; initiated and led the effort to relocate corporate offices to a larger high visibility location; negotiated the lease and envisioned and carried out the design for a build-out suitable to prepare the company for the future.

Responsible for bringing financial and business management functions to a troubled plastics recycler that had previously focused on engineering and sales. Assisted in purchase of the former Checker Cab Tank Plant using a SBA financing facility and moved the production facilities.

Financial and reporting responsibility for a group of five closely held companies, including an international screen printing company (produced, staged, and shipped clothing goods to 30+ countries). In addition to financial and tax reporting my duties included negotiating international letters of credit and cost accounting for a production facility.
