White Pine software merged with Visual Technology in 1993. I was responsible for all of engineering and CTO responsibilities for the combined companies.While at White Pine my responsibilities included: helping to form the strategic direction for the company's products and to put in place and maintain a world class Engineering, QA and support team spanning three different sites; . This team reached 40 people due to my assistance in acquisition and integration of different companies and technology.White Pine was successful in a number of products ranging from Mac and PC Terminal Emulation, X Windows Technology and then moving into the leadership role in Internet/Intranet Desktop Video Conferencing.I was the key driving force in changing the company's focus to Video Conferencing, making the initial contact and relationship with Cornell University (CU-SeeMe) and directing the company into conferencing standards.I played a significant role in bringing the company public in 1996.

was purchased by Visual Technology in 1989. At Visual I continued to develop and extend the X Windows Terminal business. White working in research at IBM was assigned to the Institute for Research in Information and Science (IRIS) at Brown University. During this time I worked with Brown, MIT, Carnegie Mellon University and the IBM research center in Palo Alto.I helped pioneer software research and development on UNIX, Ethernet networking, early RISC processors, desktop PC / Mac systems, and X Windows Technology. Contributed to the core Operating System technology that is part of the IBM UNIX systems today. Did significant work with MIT on X Windows bringing it to IBM and commercial market place.

Software programmer on Government embedded systems. Majority of work was with the IT and the infrastructure to support projects. Created early UNIX and VMS system and networking tools to facilitate development. Did early UNIX Operating System work on Berkley UNIX systems as well as deployed early Ethernet Network systems. Developed network software applications / drivers to support file transfer between systems.
