David Burge is a Director Urban Design at Department of Planning and Environment at Department of Planning and Environment. He possess expertise in urban planning, comprehensive planning, gis, urban, land use planning and 10 more skills. Colleagues describe him as "I had the pleasure of working closely with David on the same management team in various capacities for over eight years. David is very strong on the fundamentals of land use planning, and equally well versed in urban design and infrastructure issues. His versatility across project types and strength in brokering common sense project solutions with multiple stakeholders is a huge asset to any team. He has no trouble standing in front of an audience, friendly, neutral, or hostile, and “telling it like it is” in plain language in a way that is not easily gainsaid. Over the years David proved time and again how well he understands the role of the urban planner within the multi-disciplinary projects that define the industry, both responsibilities and limits. He fulfils this role admirably, neither shirking nor overstepping. With David as a team member I always knew that his part of a project was in good hands. I witnessed him apply these same principals as a leader, not expecting more of a team member than he would be prepared to give himself, and not less. Perhaps his greatest asset is his ability to remain unflustered in even the most trying of circumstances without becoming disengaged, a trait which was tested repeatedly over the years.
