Product Development and Operations Consultant

Worked on the Operations team at a small Med device startup to help lead the development of new products and optimize operations for existing product lines. This involved working closely with all internal departments (especially Engineering, Marketing, and Sales) and externally searching for and developing relationships with vendors and sub-contractors. Was on weekly BizOps/Senior Leadership meetings to discuss and execute on overall company strategy.

Moved into the Sourcing department to create and develop a supplier base outside of Asia, focusing mostly on Mexico. With the knowledge and skillset from my background in Product Development, I was able to find and build relationships with new suppliers and develop a cohesive working relationship. Manufacturing within Mexico grew to achieve close to $3M in cost savings in the first 4 years.

As Director of Product Development, I managed and scaled the Project Management department, to include PM’s across 5 different teams responsible for all Product Development projects (core business and innovation). I was responsible for ensuring all PM’s had the resources and knowledge they needed to effectively and efficiently manage their respective projects. Worked to continuously improve the development process to ensure all projects were delivered on time, within budget, and collaboratively with all departments at Speck.

As a Project Manager at Speck, I started out managing all of our carrier and fast moving projects. Working closely with our design, engineering, and sales teams, I led cross-functional groups to launch several projects for all major phone manufacturers (Apple, Samsung, LG, Motorola, etc). I was responsible to make sure all projects were completed on time, on budget and within our quality standards. This involved creating and driving project timelines, managing resources and budgets, vendor communication and product approvals. I worked extremely closely with all of our Asia suppliers to manage all product details. I also helped develop and refine the process for Carrier projects to reduce our timelines and ensure all customer needs were met.

As Production Manager, I oversaw the manufacturing and production of our local packaging plant including 24 employees across 2 shifts as well as partial responsibility for our sister plant in the Midwest. Utilized and implemented Lean Six Sigma methodologies to ensure proper process flow, resulting in over 25% increased efficiency, and 99% on time shipping rates. Worked closely with all aspects of the business (design, sales, customer service, suppliers, etc) to ensure all projects were achievable and successful.

Developed/improved contract writing process. Schedule and manage multiple projects to be completed weekly. Assist with material requirements and purchasing. Consult with homeowners to ensure expected high quality craftsmanship.
